What Is Mindfulness Meditation?
Jon Kabat-Zinn defines mindfulness as “the awareness that arises when we pay attention to the present moment in a particular way on purpose and non-judgmentally.”
The great Zen master Tich Nhat Han and many other Buddhist teachers say: “Life is only available in the Here and Now. The past has already gone. The future has not yet arisen. There is only the present moment to live.”
Mindfulness meditation is a technique to help you to learn to live in the present moment and to find peace, relaxation and freedom in the Here and Now.
Mindfulness Meditation training
The 4-week long Mindfulness Meditation training includes:
- One 60-minute long session of Mindfulness Meditation instruction per week
- Learning techniques to identify and interrupt unhealthy thought patterns
- Learning techniques to recognise and work with difficult emotions
- Exploration of ways to work with our body to create more mindfulness of our body
All Mindfulness Meditation workshops at Healing Well take place on a one-to-one basis which gives you plenty of time to learn about the meditation practice, to ask all your questions and to practise all techniques. Mindfulness Meditation has changed my life in ways I could never have imagined and I know that this will be the case for you too when you take this course with me.
Mindfulness Meditation is also part of the Living With Loss Program, the Care For Cancer Patients program and the Care for Caregivers program.
